Happy Halloween to those of you who enjoy the spooky decorations, candy and treats, or just the costumes! We rolled out a couple larger updates two days ago that we wanted to highlight. Firstly, Cinema 4D 2023 has been deployed to the farm along with an accompaniment of render engines and plugins. This is the first time we’ve released a new build of C4D on the farm with our more popular plugins already installed in it, and we hope to continue that as a new trend. The new C4D build required a new agent, so agent version 3.80 was released on both the Mac and Windows platforms to enable use of 2023. If you don’t see 2023 in your agent, make sure it’s up to date.
Also freshly deployed to the farm is Redshift 3.5.09, in most C4D builds and all Maya builds. Given the change from 3.0 to 3.5, we expect there will be some incompatibilities, so we are already paying attention to slice logs and implementing work-arounds as we find them. As usual with Redshift, we highly recommend you build your scene file using the same version we have deployed on the farm. Using an earlier build of 3.5.x should be fine, but we would recommend avoiding earlier major versions if possible.
No tricks, just treats!
